What changed in 2026

The rules got tougher. Readiness is now year-round.

CMS finalized major changes to DMEPOS accreditation - and they raise the stakes for every supplier who bills Medicare.

Annual reaccreditation

The old three-year cycle is gone. DMEPOS suppliers now face annual resurveys and reaccreditation - which means your policies, training logs, and site readiness have to hold up every single year, not once every three.

New locations: survey first

As of January 1, 2026, a new location must be surveyed before it's accredited. The old three-month grace period to operate while waiting for a site visit no longer exists.

Ownership changes don't transfer

Accreditation does not automatically carry over after a merger, acquisition, or sale. Miss the required notifications to CMS and your accrediting organization, and billing privileges are at risk.

How it works

From first call to survey-ready binder

1

Schedule a readiness review

A free review of where your operation stands: your timeline, your risk areas, and which program fits - no pressure, no obligation.

2

Complete your intake

A structured intake captures your products, staffing, and workflows so your program is written around reality, not boilerplate.

3

Receive your program

Written, professionally printed, assembled, and shipped to your location - ready for the surveyor to open.

Get survey-ready before small gaps become big delays.

A free readiness review shows you exactly where your operation stands, what your survey timeline looks like, and what it takes to close the gaps.
